Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Free Blood Pressure Checks for Truckers
Affairs Of The Heart But Not Romance Will Be On The Agenda At M4 Truckers’ Stop on St Valentine’s Day!
Affairs of the heart will be top of the agenda at the award- winning Chippenham Pit Stop in Wiltshire on St Valentine’s Day but it won’t have anything to do with romance.
For the Pit Stop people, who are already concentrating on helping their trucker customers keep healthy hearts by including a low- fat breakfast on their menus, will also be offering free blood pressure checks on the day.
Wiltshire Health Trainers Visit Truck Stop to Provide Free Blood Pressure Checks on 14th February 2020
Wilshire health trainers will be on hand at the Pit Stop, just off junction 17 of the M4 in Wiltshire, between 9.30am and 2pm and checks on carbon monoxide levels in the blood will also be available.
Pit Stop Health Campaigns Coordinator and former Bristol nurse Lisa Hatherell, said everyone needed to know their blood pressure numbers but it was particularly important for truckers who sat behind a wheel all day, every day.
“Keeping a healthy heart is synonymous with healthy eating and our High- Performance Breakfast, including poached eggs, bacon, toast and tomato, weighs in at under 500 calories and has already been given the thumbs up by our customers,” she said.

Mr Average consumed around 2,500 calories a day so by reducing their consumption by 500 calories the average trucker could lose a pound a week, said Lisa.

Besides running monthly health campaigns for its trucker and local community customers, the Pit Stop has also installed an outside exercise gym and even set up a stress relieving round trip country walk.
Its continuing drive to improve the quality of services for customers has resulted in the site receiving industry awards over the past three years.
