Free Blood Pressure Checks on your break at Chippenham Pit Stop

At the beginning of September we said a fond farewell to Neal our Manager for the last 5 years, his can do attitude, energy and orange reflective jacket will be greatly missed! Good luck Neal with your new endeavours, we all wish you well.

On a positive note, we are delighted that Lee Fenn our Assistant General Manager is taking over the reins as General Manager. Lee brings a wealth of experience to the role and we are excited about the future development of the business under his direction.

September is Blood Pressure Awareness Month

This September our monthly health campaign is Blood Pressure Awareness.  We welcomed back the Wiltshire trainers on the 10th September as part of ‘Know your numbers week’, to offer free blood pressure checks.

We had the pleasure of seeing a young man again who had an unbelievably high BP at his check this time last year. It shocked him into action, he signed up for a healthy living course that we put him in touch with and he has, as a result, given up smoking and taken on board a new way of living healthily.  Which he celebrated with us when he came back to visit us this week.

Next Blood Pressure Checks on 16th October at Chippenham Pit Stop by Wiltshire Trainers

We hope that others will benefit from these blood pressure checks and we have already booked the next one for 16th October, where the focus will be on quitting smoking.  Please do come and join us.

Encouraging Healthier Eating and Lifestyle for Drivers at M4 Truckstop

The Pit Stop has been encouraging drivers to take positive steps towards living healthier lifestyle for the last few years. When you spend so many hours behind the wheel every day and live off convenience foods on the go, it can be difficult to fit in time for exercise and good eating habits.

Truck drivers as a group are known to be at high risk of heart attack and other serious illnesses related to unhealthy living. Chippenham Pit Stop introduced low calorie meals to their menu which are satisfying and offer drivers the chance to choose the healthy option. The restaurant has been commended for their range of heart happy meals and is incredibly popular with drivers from across the UK and Europe.  More exciting new dishes are to be added to the menu very soon. Watch this space!
